Shadow People

Shadow
People
Love should be shown, not spoken
Mere words don’t help to heal what’s broken,
These shadow people whisper how they long to
understand,
Yet they refuse to leave their empty shadow
land,
They speak melodic words of how deeply they
love,
But they sleep below the surface while I
struggle up above,
To simply hear their shadow voices, above all
odds I leap,
But their position in my memory is one they’d
rather keep,
One new day of love and laughter is all that
I did ask,
Instead the shadow people linger on the wall
that is my past
