Dead Smile

Dead Smile
Can you feel the world’s soul?
Shining deep in hatred’s hole,
The black sky illuminates the white lie,
Building up in me,
Only I can see,
Running far past light,
Losing all the past sight,
That made us who we were,
This grass just isn’t as green,
After all I’ve done and seen,
Oh no, Oh no,
On this blowing isle,
I am wearing a dead smile.
Grasp the blooming rose,
You are one of those who longs to save the flower’s last breath,
Before bitter wind leads to its death,
They keep on trying to kill the light,
That shines me bright straight through the night,
In this nomad’s land,
Try your best to understand,
Alone to the bone,
Feelings never shown,
Love is never grown,
Hard cold the only tone,
I have a will, can’t find a way,
Perhaps I’ll discover one someday,
Your hands are shaking,
Exhausted after all this faking,
I feel your last blast of laughter,
No time to ponder why you never received your happy-ever after,
And you yell,
Faith is never seen,
Only felt,
Don’t try to flee from your only dream just because it’s far,
For every dying star,
Thousands more are born,
Remember though our sky is torn,
And every soul is years past worn,
There is time,
I see your dead smile,
The one that’s hidden your true face awhile,
And I know somewhere someone’s is coming alive,
Someone is not simply living, but learning how to strive,
Bring yours back to life,
Through the struggle and strife,
Every day we come closer,
To all we want and need,
Never beg and plead,
Never beg and plead,
Hold your head up high,
Don’t wonder why,
Wonder how,
Can I turn this around?
Though you fall to the ground,
You can rise up,
Stand up,
Reach for the moon,
Not too late, Never too soon,
To start over,
If you are not consumed by fear,
Eaten away by a single tear,
Your dead smile will disappear,
Don’t let it stay
